In Need of Assistance | SOGASCO Needs A Modern Library

Fri, 11 Sep, 2015

Dear Editor, The Sogakope Senior High School is one of the best schools in the Volta Region with excellent academic records over the years.

It has produces men and women of high calibre, who are serving various sectors of the nation. However, this school has not seen any major infrustructural development since Dr. Nkrumah was over thrown. All facilities, ranging from domitories to the blackboards, even the library, are very old and dilapidated.

To put the library in order, the 2006/2007 Students Representative Council (SRC) launched the Library Renovation Project. Successive SRCs tried to continue with the project but could not accomplish even one-fith of it.

Meanwhile, the student population keeps increasing with each passing academic year, which demands a modern, well-stocked, spacious and comfortable library.

I am, therefore, appealing to the Ghana Education Service, Ministries of Education, Finance and Economic Planning, non-governmental organisations, individuals and corporate bodies to come to the aid of this old and noble institution.

Help these young students, indeed the future leaders of this country, to get the needed environment for their academic pursuit.

Agboso Edzordzi Gabriel,

Sogakope, Volta Region
