Dr. Chisom Chioma Ibe | Use Your Pain, It's Deliberate

Mon, 13 Feb, 2017

Use pain? How on earth does one use pain? I mean, its pain right? Pain is painful. So, does that even make any sense? I know it sounds counter-intuitive but let me show you what that means, flow with me.

When a pregnant woman is due for delivery, that is when she has carried her baby to term of 9months or about 40weeks and its time for her to deliver the baby, something is expected to happen. She's expected to start experiencing contractions that is Labour pains; the pain causes her to push the baby out.

This is where it gets interesting. If after being due, the woman does not experience the pains and her baby stays way past the delivery time and starts going towards the 10th month or more, we got a problem, the chances of having a stillbirth increases. Here's what the doctor does; the doctor deliberately causes her pain, I mean he/she induces the pain and causes it to start. Why would the doctor do that, I mean, doctors are supposed to relieve pain not cause more pain right? Because the doctor knows, if you don't feel that pain and it doesn’t force you to push the baby out, you just might end up with a dead baby.

Think about it, you're comfortable, everything is supposedly going fine and you think "I like the kind life wey I dey live now" but that's not the best you can be.

You'd rather not go after that dream or start that business or take that trip because you are OK. But God knows that's not the best of you, there's a baby inside of you that needs to be born, there's a book waiting to be written, a song the world needs to hear, a business idea that needs to revolutionize your country and the world but you’d rather stay comfortable.

Boom!!!! It hits you, something happens, you lose a job, someone leaves you; deliberately or by accident, and the pain starts. That pain is supposed to shift you out of your comfort zone.

Hey, Your Comfort Zone is Your Broke Zone, if you’re comfortable, you're broke. (I don't care how much you've got.)

I don't know what your pain is right now, Don't waste that pain, use it, it's for you, not against you, bring forth 'that baby' to the world and let's celebrate you.

Trust me, I've been there, done that, still standing.

Love, Hugs and Kisses...
