GSO Helping Hand Project
FORMS

GSO Helping Hand ProjectThe Ghana Schools Online Helping Hand Project is designed to serve as a meeting place of educational needs and supply.

We have seen Schools operating under very challenging conditions. Brilliant but needy students are dropping out of School by the minute everyday because they do not have any means of funding their continous education. Many brilliant students in the rural areas have had their educational dreams cut short by the mere virtue that they are not exposed to anything else beyond probably Junior Secondary School.

The project hopes to bring the Donor Community together with the Needy to facilitate support that will see more educational institutions and facilities better equiped and resourced and more children of school going age in school instead of loittering on the streets trying to make ends meet.

The following specific programmes have been designed for Donor or Sponsor involvement:

  • Support A Child Project:
The website gives needy but brilliant children the opportunity to register and tell their story. This will be made available on the website and also emailed to registered sponsors for consideration. It is hoped that this way, more needy but brilliant pupil/student.

  • Support a Needy School
Day in and day out, we are faced with harrowing stroies of how children have to either walk long distances to a school that does not have furniture to sit on or roof to shelter them from the sometimes very harsh and dangerous natural conditions. We have seen science and computer labs that has nothing to show and libraries that are more fit to be referred to as abandoned structures rather than places of learning and the acquisition of life and situation changing knowledge.

These Schools can add their stories here and hopefully, the Government, Donor Community, Corporate Organization or Philanthropic individual might pick it up and bring a change.

  • Host an under-privileged child per holiday:
It is absolutely true that for many of us, how far we dream is a direct result of what we are exposed to; what we know is possible. Many of our future leaders still see being in the capitals a luxury and a far-fetched reality. This programme is a long vacation programme aimed at facilitating an exchange programme between the various regions of Ghana. Beneficiaries will have the oppotunity to spend a week or two with a forster family with activities well drawn out by the GSO Secretariat to ensure that during their stay, their experience will far exceed any of their dreams and thoughts. We believe when these beneficiaries go back to their villages, towns and cities, their outlook of life and attitude towards education and life generally will change drastically.

To participate as either a Needy Student or Institution, a Donor or A Sponsor or just as a Host Family, please click the appropriate link on the right of this page.

Thank You.
